In 2022, Dana Fong-Reyes, a physical therapist and private practice owner, started a working timeline to build Aloha Legends Sports Organization, a non profit sports organization; it’s modeled after her hometown youth sports organizations and incorporates the values from her current rehab and fitness companies CORE Sports Analysis LLC and CORE Sports Honolulu LLC (dba CORE Sports Hawaii). Aloha Legends started as a basketball tournament in 2023 and was then established as a nonprofit organization in 2024. Dana is married to Shaun Reyes who is also co-founder of the CORE Sports Hawaii companies; he has been very supportive of her dream of developing a sports organization that encourages youth and adults to stay active and competitive in a supportive, uplifting community. Dana was also inspired by her dedicated father who was chairman of her youth sports organization and operated basketball leagues in Sacramento; one tournament specifically was called “The Legends Tournament”-which was a tournament for older active individuals who have been supportive figures in the basketball youth community.
Our organization instills sports fitness and community camaraderie. We are committed to instilling integrity, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, respect, leadership, trust, and dedication to our youth. We believe these values and virtues are important to their growth and to them becoming active members of our community and society. We want to emphasize the challenge of competition, the joy of victory, the reality of defeat, the importance of commitment and acts of service to our aloha community. Our other main mission is to promote local support for adult sport organizations and small businesses who advocate health, fitness, athleticism and contribute to the Hawaii community. These goals will be achieved through organizing our dedicated volunteers, caring parents, and business associates who wish to partner with our great organization.
